Prof. Masayuki Hyodo
PROFESSOR DR. MASAYUKI HYODO, Professor, Yamaguchi University, Japan
Masayuki Hyodo is Professor at Department of Civil Engineering, Yamaguchi University, where he has been since 1986. Currently, he is the Chairman of Technical Committee on Geo-Mechanics from Micro to Macro (TC105), in International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) since 2010. He also currently serves as Head of East Asian International Course, Department of Civil Engineering, Yamaguchi University. During 2001-2002 and 2004-2005, he was appointed as Head of Department of Civil Engineering in Yamaguchi University. He was appointed as Visiting Fellow at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute in 1992. He received B.Eng. (Civil) in 1974, M. Eng (Geotechnical Engineering) in 1976 and Ph.D (Civil) in 1979 from Kyushu University. He is also a professional engineer in Japan and active member in Japanese Geotechnical Society, Japanese Society for Civil Engineers, Japan Association for Earthquake Engineering, and many more. His research interests centre on Soil Dynamics, Mechanical Properties of Crushable Soils, Mechanical Properties of Silts and Clays, Mechanical Properties on Methane Hydrate, On-Line Seismic Response Analysis on Soil and Structure Interaction. He has made numerous contributions to Geotechnical Engineering, produces numbers of research papers and has given numerous invited talks and lectures all around the world.
